Every new venture needs to have a purpose. My purpose is to play my part to advance the ‘Kingdom’s coming.’ John the Baptist fulfilled the prophetic voice of one calling: “In the desert, prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God” (Isaiah 40:3).
I don’t rate myself alongside John the B but I have been asking the Lord to make a way for me in the desert (so to speak) so that I might be able to speak into the lives of thirsty souls. When the Lord continues to pour into you, naturally you need an avenue to pour out. Galatians 4:4 says, “But when the time had fully come, God sent His Son,” The timing was perfect I’m sure for many reasons but I’ve heard that the timing was advantageous because of the Roman Empire which provided roadways allowing for the spread of the Gospel. So I feel that the timing is also perfect for me to propagate this new venture via the Information Superhighway the World Wide Web.
For the last 10 years God graciously called me into Prison Ministry which was such a blessing for both myself and the inmates but my time had come to an end when He called me out by sending another Chaplain to supersede me. As harsh as this felt I understand why. My daughter calls me a ‘Diva,’ which I think means entitled. She’s probably correct. The Lord has changed me so much that I’m unable to function within a team. My husband says that there is always room for a non-team player in a team. But my chaplaincy Provider didn’t agree. I told them I was with ‘Team Jesus’ but that wasn’t going to cut it and I had to move on.
God doesn’t gift us for nothing. Scripture tells us that He gifts for the edification, the building up of His Body - the Church. My intention is to administer my gift of Encouragement to nurture the Body of Christ. There is an element of the prophetic in the gift of encourager. It’s not foretelling but forth telling; a word directly from my abiding communion with the Lord to strengthen those who find themselves on the Narrow Road. I am very familiar with this path, having spent the last 18 years upon it. I have learned a lot and have much to impart. I hope to shed some light into the darkness that engulfs the intrepid sojourner so that they might be sustained, enlightened and aligned with the Holy Spirit’s forte of purification. This journey is not for the faint-hearted. My desire is to equip the ‘young sisters/brides-to-be’ (Song of Songs 8:8,9) to remain on the path securing their place at both the Wedding Banquet and on the Battlefront (Revelation 19).
